Victory Arch
Arc de Triomf was designed in Mudejar style as the monumental gateway for the 1888 Expo by Josep Vilaseca, using brick as his principal building material.
The coats-of-arms representing all the Spanish provinces were placed around it, with Barcelona's in the middle, in the place of honor.
On the sides of the arch there are four statues of women that symbolise Fame; other stone carvings represent the participation of the other countries in the Expo and the city of Barcelona thanking these countries for their attendance.
Barcelona's Victory or Triumphal Arch is not as grand as the Paris one, but it's still a beautiful building which is worth a visit.
